Home / Security Cameras / Worcester, MA
Galaxy IT & Marketing is an authorized Lorex dealer serving Worcester, MA. Every system we install records to a recorder in your building — no monthly subscription, and it keeps recording with the internet down.
Worcester is the densest, most mixed-use place we work — triple-deckers next to storefronts next to old mill buildings. Each of those needs a different approach, and a kit bought online treats them all the same.
A large share of Worcester's housing is two- and three-family, and the owners of those buildings call us for the same set of problems: packages disappearing from a shared entry, damage in a common hallway, dumping in the driveway, and disputes between tenants where nobody can prove what happened.
Common-area coverage is legal and straightforward — entryways, driveways, hallways, basements with shared laundry. Inside a tenant's unit is not yours to cover. We map that line clearly during the walkthrough so there is no ambiguity later, and we never point a camera anywhere a tenant would reasonably expect privacy.
Restaurant and bar work here has a specific pattern. The cameras that earn their keep are on the register, the back door, the walk-in, and the dumpster — not the dining room, which is where owners instinctively want to put them. Late-night operations also need genuine low-light performance rather than a camera that produces a grainy white blob under a sodium light.
On Shrewsbury Street and around the Canal District we are usually working in older buildings with brick, plaster and no clean cable path, which is where an experienced install pays for itself.
Worcester's converted mill space has high ceilings, long spans, and electrical that has been modified by five decades of tenants. Camera counts go down and lens choice goes up: fewer, better-placed cameras with the right field of view beat a dozen cheap ones aimed hopefully at a big room.
Yes. Shared entryways, hallways, driveways, basements and laundry areas are generally fair game because nobody has a reasonable expectation of privacy there. Inside a tenant unit is not. We will also disable audio by default — Massachusetts requires all-party consent for recording conversations, and a hallway camera with a live microphone is a real legal problem.
Yes, that is most of Worcester. We run PoE where we can conceal it and use wire-free cameras where a run would mean tearing up plaster. The tradeoff is that battery cameras miss the first couple of seconds, so we keep those off the critical entry points.
Yes — from Burncoat and Greendale down through Main South, the Canal District, Shrewsbury Street and out to Tatnuck. Worcester is a short run from our Marlborough shop.
